  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, 1/4 cup of BBQ sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty.
  3. Grill the burger patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last 2 minutes of cooking, brush the patties with the remaining BBQ sauce and top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese. Close the grill lid and continue to cook until the cheese is melted.
